When batch windows hide breaks
Overnight jobs are excellent at making yesterday look settled. They are also excellent at rolling small amount drifts into the next file until the drift becomes a material reconciling item nobody can explain.
Intraday checkpoints
Transaction reconciliation audits for fintech should sample mid-window, not only end-of-day. A noon extract compared against processor acknowledgements catches fee-path errors while the rail owners are still online.
Hash the inputs
If the batch can re-pull a partner file silently, your audit trail needs file hashes and pull timestamps. Without them, “we reran the job” becomes an unprovable story.
Teach the discomfort
Our desk simulation plants a batch that auto-clears a ₩3 break into a suspense account. Learners who only read the green dashboard miss it; learners who follow suspense aging catch it. That habit is the point of the program.
